Put a little fun in your Halloween decor with a felt banner that can spell out any spooky message!
Supplies:
–Amplify Serrated Shears
–Fabric scraps
–Black and white felt
–Stick-N-Washaway by Pellon
–Needle
-Black embroidery floss
-Computer and printer
1. Use the serrated Amplify Shears to cut a piece of white felt measuring 34” x 15”.
2. Use your computer’s word processing software to write the Halloween phrase in various large fonts and print onto sheets of Pellon’s Stick-N-Washaway.
3. Apply the Stick-N-Washaway to the back of the black felt (per packaging directions) and cut out each letter with the serrated Amplify Shears.
4. Fold the cut piece of white felt in half.
5. Arrange the words on the white felt and hand stitch in place.
6. Trim the bottom of the felt to a point and use the serrated Amplify Shears to cut a series of ½” slots along the bottom edge, through both layers of felt.
7. Cut lengths of scrap fabric 1” wide.
8. Fold each length of fabric in half and thread the folded end through one of the slots at the bottom of the white felt.
9. Pass the two ends of the fabric through the loop and pull down to knot. Repeat so that each slot along the bottom of the white felt has fabric threaded through.
10. Trim to the desired length.
11. Push a pole through the top of the banner and hang with twine.
